  Diversity is a fact, inclusivity is an action.

  Most encounters with diversity start under pressure. Either because you are experiencing discrimination, harressment or exclusion, or because you are confronted with your privileges and it suddenly seems that everything has to change at once. Language, perspectives, what you are allowed to do, say or think even. And one way or another diversity is in the end just a very exhausting pain in the ass. Sounds familiar? I want to change that and show that diversity – seen as a field of multiple biographies and experiences – is a source of creativity,  satisfaction and an ultimaetly better workplace and outcome. I will pass on my passion for the topic and make tangiable how much fun, creativity and surplus a diverse and inclusive understanding can be to you personally and professionally.

  We‘ll start with a quick and casual overview on the topic ‚Diversity‘ in general and then specify elements that are important when we zoom into the dimensions ‚Gender‘ and ‚Sexual Orientation‘. We will talk about prejudices, good and bad taste of humour and how gender and sexual orientation have an influence on how we perceive the world around us. We will of course tackle the seemingly inconvenient topic of communicating more inclusive and we will not avoid the question: How can we do it better?
